Dale Steyn returned to action to help the Proteas to a 12 run win over Bangladesh in a Twenty20 match at the Wanderers. The Phalaborwa Express took 2 for 18 in three overs in the rain affected match. Bangladesh were restricted to 109 chasing the Proteas total of 118 in 14 overs. Santos and Platinum Stars will resume their Absa Premiership match at 25 past four this afternoon after lights failed at the Mmabatho Stadium last night. It was goalless just before the half-hour mark. Golden Arrows beat Maritzburg 1-0. Ajax Cape Town will have learnt a bit more about Arrows, who they face in a Telkom Knockout Cup quarterfinal on Sunday evening. Kick-off is at 18h00.

In the UEFA Champions League, Ryan Giggs scored late to earn Manchester United a 1-1 draw at Celtic. Arsenal were held to a goalless draw by Fenerbahce. Alessandro del Piero scored twice as Juventus beat Real Madrid 2-0.
