Taylor Dancing His Way to Washington and Brew Crew Add a Bat

The Washington Redskins watched their #1 DE Phillip Daniels tear his ACL on the first play of the first summer practice. New head coach Jim Zorn could not have been happy and Washington's already bad defense looked to get even worse. Nine hours later a "big fish" was acquired from Miami. This fish was DE and 2006 Defensive Player of the Year Jason Taylor. Washington gave up a 2009 2nd rounder and a 2010 6th rounder to get Taylor. Jason Taylor has had three straight seasons 11+ sacks and is one of three active players with 10 sacks in 6 or more seasons. Jason Taylor was Miami's best player and now will be the centerpiece in a Redskins' defense which needed help. With Taylor Washington may be able to survive with their suspect defense. Taylor puts QB's on their backs and joins the best division in football where he will go against the likes of Tony Romo, Donovan McNabb, and Eli Manning. Jason Taylor has been rumored to be leaving Miami all offseason, but Miami could n! ot get the price they desired. With Washington losing Daniels, the Redskins immediately called the Dolphins and got this deal done so Taylor now has plenty of time to get acquainted with his new teammates. Miami traded the last piece of the previous Miami era and now is 100% rebuilding under Bill Parcells. Miami has not brought in any huge names, but have brought in a lot of good players (half of them from Dallas) that just know how to play football. Miami has plenty of young talent and future draft picks to work with as well. Bill Parcell's four-year plan has just begun.
Switching to some baseball trade news now, the Milwaukee Brewers continued to improve their team in hopes of a World Series opportunity by acquiring veteran 2B Ray Durham from San Francisco. Ray Durham is quite old, but can still swing a good bat and provides a lot more depth in the infield. Durham will likely take over the everyday 2B job from youngster Rickie Weekes. The Brewers have the wors! t batting average by 2B in the MLB at .222. Ray Durham comes ! in at .2 93 3 HR 32 RBI and is in the final year of his contract. The Brewers already bolstered their rotation with AL Cy Young Winner Cici Sabathia and now have improved their offense and defense. Minor moves like this one are what leads to championships. The Brewers are not done yet, they will look for relief and maybe one more bat to come of the bench before the July 31st trade deadline.
